The Contra Costa County Bar Association Port Chicago Taskforce is comprised of members of the CCCBA, many of whom are attorneys, as well as members of the community with an interest in the Port Chicago 50. They seek to raise awareness of the injustice in the legal and broader community and advocate for the setting aside of the mutiny convictions of the Port Chicago 50.

WebsiteAuthor Steve Sheinkin's inspirational book The Port Chicago 50 (2012) has been vital in building public awareness of the sacrifices and heroics of the Port Chicago sailors.
As an early advocate for the naming of Thurgood Marshall Regional Park - Home of the Port Chicago 50 in 2021, Steve has continued his advocacy work to exonerate the sailors in his capacity as a member of the Port Chicago Coalition. In 2023, when Steve heard Contra Costa County public schools were in need of Port Chicago books, he generously donated books to help ensure public middle and high school students have access to this important American history.
